Construct + Capella
It has been our pleasure and privilege to work with the Capella Hotels & Resorts team over the last two years, to develop brand strategy and positioning and create a new global identity and palette.
The identity was inspired by the brand’s name – Capella is the brightest star in the constellation of Auriga. Although this celestial gem appears as a single star to the naked eye, it is actually a quadruple star system organised in two binary pairs.
The global identity features the binary star system as an icon proudly centred above Capella. The word itself is crafted in the most elegant serif form with the ‘A’ forms reflecting the movement of the Capella constellation.

Celebrating the unique architectural intervention bringing together old and new. The historic Tanah Merah Officers' Mess buildings of the 1880’s is extended by Foster and Partners in an unbroken plan that curves around the garden courtyard.
Concentric rows of villas and pools follow the contour in three descending terraces through the resorts lush gardens planted with 5,000 trees.
Malay for ‘red earth’, Tanah Merah is a reference to Singapore’s lateritic soil, whose colour is reflected in the terracotta roofs of the region’s historic architecture.
Location specific colour palettes, illustrations and patterns were developed for each property in the Capella portfolio.
